Unit 8 / Reading 2

 

Tom: Hello! This is first time I've used messenger!

Gina: Another intrepid expedition! lol

Tom: lol? What's that?

Gina: It's an acronym, it means Laugh Out Loud. There's lots of jargon and abbreviations 2 make the convo' flow easier(!)

Tom: Yikes.

Gina: Don't worry u'll get the hang of it.

Tom: I've heard a lot about this messenger system.

Gina: Yes it's an excellent way of communicating. So how do you feel the investigation is going?

Tom: So far so good. I think we've covered a lot of ground in quite a small space of time. I'd say that's down to good teamwork. Wouldn't you?

Gina: Yes. I also think it has a lot to do with your experience and professionalism.

Tom: Ha! So what about u? How is your first assignment going?

Gina: It's amazing, really. All of this has really given me a new sense of direction. I don't wanna work just as a photographer anymore. I realise I can do work that really makes an impact.

Tom: I know how u feel. I've been thinking about making changes in my own life thanks to this trip.

Gina: Would you be talking about Caroline by any chance?

Tom: You're right. You must be getting really bored of me.

Gina: Not at all but it just seems odd to me that some1 so assertive in his professional life is so indecisive in his emotional life.

Tom: You know you're right; this thing is an excellent way of communicating. I feel like we've learnt more about each other through this electronic conversation than we have since we met.

Gina: I know this might sound odd, but I'll be sad when we get to the bottom of all of this. I've really enjoyed working together.

Tom: Me too. And that's saying something. You know I've only ever worked with Simon.

Gina: Well I hope we get 2 keep in touch.

Tom: Well the assignment isn't over yet.

Gina: Yes u're right.

Tom: I'm going to have a shower, and then I'll meet u in the lobby in 1/2 an hour?

Gina: gr8

Tom: gr8?

Gina: Great

Tom: Oh! Ok, gr8!
